Life Cycle Design (LCD) has quickly become the go-to method for defining sustainability in buildings in governments, green building councils and organisations around the world. LCD offers a integrated design approach to building and gives developers the freedom to incorporate new design elements in their projects moving forward. This presentation and discussion will provide an overview of LCD and look at examples of councils who have integrated LCD into their planning policies as well as developers who have opted for LCD methodology.
This presentation and discussion will be structured as follows:
- Overview of Life Cycle Design
- How LCD can be used to define sustainability in buildings
- Benefits of performance-based ratings over prescriptive
- Case study examples of councils who’ve integrated LCD into their policies
- Questions and discussion
For those located outside of Perth, the discussion will also be hosted in a webinar format, so please feel free to join in!
