Background information to interpret results

Hi,
I’m using eTool for a university assignment to undertake a simple comparison of different timber and concrete structural and flooring options for a particular building. I was wondering if you can point me to any literature so I can, for example, explain why the End of Life values under the GWP or the Product value for embodied energy are an order of magnitude higher for the timber options than the concrete options? Thanks!
